Countywide : Auto Dealers Group to Give Schools Funds

The Team MacPherson automotive dealership group said this week it will contribute at least $50,000 to help ease financial problems at Orange County elementary and secondary schools.

Starting Friday and continuing through Labor Day, the Tustin-based company will contribute $50 to a local school every time a new or used vehicle is purchased or leased at one of Team MacPherson’s six dealerships. The company did not place an upper limit on the amount to be given.

Consumers will be allowed to decide which schools will receive donations.

Joe MacPherson, the company’s president and founder, said the money will help schools purchase supplies such as books, computer software, sports equipment, musical instruments, and arts and crafts materials.

Team MacPherson operates the Ford, Infiniti, Mitsubishi, Toyota and MacPherson leasing dealerships in the Tustin Auto Center, and Joe MacPherson Chevrolet in the Irvine Auto Center.
