DOWNEY : Man Held in Stabbing Death of Friend Outside Bar
Police arrested a man Monday who allegedly stabbed his best friend after their horseplay outside a bar turned deadly.
Vincent Beltran, 19, was taken into custody about 8 a.m. and booked on suspicion of murder, Downey police said.
Beltran allegedly stabbed Jeffrey Calhoun, 25, late Sunday night outside the Shuttle Inn on Imperial Highway, said Sgt. Pete Novakoff of the Downey Police Department.
“The suspect and the victim . . . started horsing around, when Beltran became upset and pulled out a knife and stabbed Calhoun,” Novakoff said.
