SAN FERNANDO : Delgado Named Finance Director

The city of San Fernando has hired a new finance director to oversee budgetary and financial operations.
Lou Delgado of Arcadia was finance officer of South El Monte until May 15, when he replaced interim Finance Director George Kaenel in San Fernando. Kaenel filled the post left vacant by Mike Moon six months ago.
In South El Monte, Delgado oversaw the city’s operating and capital improvement budgets and handled business licenses, audits and contract management in addition to serving as chairman of the city’s Economic Development and Community Finance committees.
Prior to that, Delgado worked as accounting manager assistant in El Segundo and accountant in Anchorage, Ala. Delgado graduated from the University of Alaska at Fairbanks, where he received a degree in accounting.
A member of the California Society of Municipal Finance Officers and the California Municipal Treasurers’ Assn., Delgado speaks Spanish as well as English.
