Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies Tuesday arrested three teen-agers in the stabbing death of the 16-year-old son of a Los Angeles Police Department detective and wounding of another teen-age boy, authorities said.

Brandon Hein, 18, and a 15-year-old whose name was withheld because of his age, were arrested at Hein’s Oak Park home, said sheriff’s Detective Bill Neumann. A 17-year-old surrendered at the Lost Hills sheriff’s station. All three were being held on suspicion of murder.

Deputies said they are looking for Jason (Skip) Hollans, 18, of Agoura Hills, who was seen Monday night driving from the murder scene in a maroon pickup truck. Hollans was described as white, 5 feet, 9 inches and about 130 pounds.

Friends said the surviving victim, Mike McLoren, 16, a student at Agoura High, lived in a room, or clubhouse, behind the house shared by his grandparents, mother and aunt. Just before 7:30 p.m. Monday, deputies arrived in response to an emergency call and found McLoren and James Farris III, also 16 and an Agoura High student, collapsed in the kitchen of the main house, Neumann said.

Farris, whose father works in the LAPD’s detective headquarters division, was pronounced dead at Westlake Medical Center of multiple stab wounds. McLoren was in fair condition at UCLA Medical Center, a hospital spokesman said.

Neumann said the motive is unclear and that the two victims were unarmed.
