COSTA MESA : Public Input Invited on Water Rate Increase
- Share via
Customers of the Mesa Consolidated Water District will get their last chance to discuss a possible rate increase at a meeting of the agency’s board of directors Thursday at 7 p.m.
The board has been considering a rate increase to make up for an anticipated $623,000 shortfall in next year’s budget, caused by a combination of rising water prices and needed improvement projects.
In recent years, the Los Angeles Metropolitan Water District and the Orange County Water District, which supply water to the Mesa district, have increased their prices, agency spokeswoman Mary Urashima said.
After hearing public comments, the board is expected to make a final decision about a rate increase on June 1.
