Man on Bail Arrested in Slaying of Teacher

SHEPHERD, Tex. —
A teacher was shot to death outside an elementary school Wednesday, allegedly by a former boyfriend who was out on bail on charges that he had put a gun to her head and tried to kill her four months ago. That time, the gun had malfunctioned, investigators said.
Angela Collins, 24, was shot with a rifle as she got out of her car to start the school day. Children did not see the slaying, officials said. Patrick Dale Walker, 25, of Goodrich was arrested. He was charged with capital murder and jailed without bail.
