JUDGE THEM CRAZY: Months before it became in vogue, the Orange County Crazies improvisational group volunteered to perform for the sequestered O.J. Simpson jurors. Their stint, yesterday, was cloaked in secrecy. They couldn’t tell any friends or media where they were going. . . . Quipped Crazies Director Cherie Kerr beforehand: “We figured those folks were ready for someone like us after all their stress.” The Crazies made it back in time for their regular show in Santa Ana last night.

SURVIVAL! Holly McGregor, 34, recent Western State University College of Law valedictorian, says that when she saw the state bar exam in February “it was close to panic time. I was so sure I had failed.” She didn’t. Her whole study group passed, something of a coup. . . . The bar pass rate of 41%--announced last week--was the lowest in nearly 10 years. Fullerton-based Western’s most recent graduation class pass rate was about 60%, well above most of the 18 state-accredited schools.

HELLO, CAROL: Carol Channing gets a special lifetime Tony Award tonight in New York (CBS-TV at 9). Her next stop will be Costa Mesa. . . . On Tuesday she reprises her most celebrated Broadway role--Dolly Levi in “Hello, Dolly!”--at the Orange County Performing Arts Center (Calendar). “Somebody must have figured the good outweighed the bad,” says the star, who won her first Tony, as Dolly, in 1964. “I’ve done dumb things, like everybody else. The Tony people must have wiped the slate clean.”

THANKS, KIDS: Young Angels fans are getting a reward for their loyalty. The Junior Angels Club is mailing a total of eight free tickets for two upcoming games to each of last year’s members. The Angels decided to waive the $5 fee for last year’s members--15 and younger--who lost out on one of their free games in 1994 because of the strike. Their free tickets this year: the July 9 Milwaukee game and Aug. 20 against New York, both Sunday day games. . . . Youngsters can still join the club, for $5, by writing the Angels.
