CHATSWORTH : Computer Disks Stolen From Truck

Share

Thieves made off with about $190,000 worth of hard-drive computer disks from a tractor-trailer parked in Chatsworth, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.

Although the burglary occurred May 30, it was not reported to police until Tuesday, Lt. Kyle Jackson said.

The theft occurred in an alley on the 9500 block of Mason Avenue, when the thieves forced their way into the shipping truck’s trailer by removing the rear door locks, Jackson said.

The bandits took 16 boxes of nine-gigabyte disks, Jackson said, adding that he has heard of at least one similar burglary.

“It’s certainly something we’re going to follow up, because of the dollar loss,” Jackson said. “That’s quite a bit.”
