Parts Isn’t Necessarily Parts

Share

When something goes out in your gas barbecue grill, most home centers will sell you “fits-all” replacements . . . which may not quite fit, particularly if a grill has specialized parts such as flavorizer bars or flare control grids. If you’re having trouble replacing a broken gas grill part, a Florida company called Grill Parts Distributors mail-orders original factory replacements. You can charge to Visa, MasterCard or Discover from (800) 447-4557.

Another Coffee Heard From

You think you know your East African coffees because you’ve had Kenya and Ethiopian Harrar, maybe some Uganda. Well, there are still a couple of countries to go.

City Bean, in Westwood, has what it believes to be the first coffee to reach the Los Angeles area from Malawi, the long, thin country formerly known as Nyasaland that runs along the west coast of Lake Nyasa (or Lake Malawi, as the Malawians see it). With its floral aroma, it’s rather like a Kenya, with perhaps a little more body and less acidity. City Bean is selling it at a reasonable $9.50 a pound at the store, or from (310) 824-1340.
