150 Bank of America Employees to Be Transferred From O.C. to L.A.

COSTA MESA — Bank of America said Friday that it plans to transfer 150 employees to Los Angeles when it moves out of its 12-story Costa Mesa building later this year.
Another 450 employees in the bank’s commercial real estate office will be transferred to Orange County locations.
Bank of America plans to lease the building near South Coast Plaza to Unocal Corp.’s marketing and refining arm, 76 Products Co. The Unocal subsidiary, which now is based in Los Angeles, would become one of Orange County’s 10 largest businesses, with annual sales of $2.5 billion.
Unocal plans to transfer 500 employees to Orange County--300 to Costa Mesa and 200 to its Brea facility.
In addition to commercial lending, the Costa Mesa facility also administers construction lending, appraisals and computer systems.
