Los Angeles police arrested a suspect Monday in the weekend stabbing death of a man in the courtyard of a North Hills apartment complex.

Miguel Angel Palos, 30, of North Hills, was arrested on suspicion of murder following interviews with investigators, Detective Mike Oppelt said. Palos is suspected in the Sunday stabbing of Adriano Gomez, a 27-year-old friend.

“They had an encounter in the courtyard, and one thing led to another,” Oppelt said.

Oppelt said statements made by several witnesses to the killing in the 8800 block of Langdon Avenue led detectives to Palos. The district attorney’s office is expected to review the case Wednesday and decide whether to file charges.
