Winslow Sentenced for License Violation

Former Thousand Oaks City Council candidate Lance Winslow was sentenced to serve 100 hours of community service Tuesday for driving while his license was suspended.

Winslow, 30, was stopped by police several times during the campaign season and ticketed for driving without a license and cited for having an unregistered vehicle.

Despite his traffic violations, Winslow came in third in the June 6 special election, with 8.8% of the vote.

Winslow owns a mobile car wash business in Thousand Oaks. He said he was relieved that the punishment handed down by a Municipal Court judge was not worse.

“It’s better than I thought it was going to be,” Winslow said. “They were talking about 200 hours.

“So I’ll be picking up trash in Oxnard,” Winslow said. “It’s too bad, I’d much rather be picking up trash in Thousand Oaks.”
