‘60s Rockers to Bring Legendary Tunes to Buellton
- Share via
In addition to pea soup and passing through, there will be a third reason to be in Buellton on Saturday: legendary geezers of rock, Johnny Rivers and the Mamas & the Papas, who will perform at Buell Arena on McMurray Road.
The Mamas & the Papas had four Top 10 hits in 1966, among them “Monday, Monday” and “California Dreamin’.”
Rivers, who continues to live long and prosper on oldies radio, is known for several country-rock tunes such as “Memphis,” “Seventh Son,” “Slow Dancin’ ” and “Secret Agent Man,” a song about one of the great mind-bending TV shows, “The Prisoner.”
* The show runs from 2 to 6 p.m. Tickets are $40, $30, $25 and $20. For information, call 688-3470.
