ORANGE : Seismic Retrofit for Glassell Bridge OKd

The Glassell Street Bridge across the Santa Ana River will be strengthened to resist earthquakes.
The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday awarded an $84,000 contract for seismic retrofitting to Caltrop Engineering Corp. of Placentia.
Work will begin within the next four weeks, said David Marshall, chief of construction administration for the county Environmental Management Agency.
The funding for the project comes from California Department of Transportation.
