NFL on NBC: Maguire Up, Trumpy Down
Commentator Bob Trumpy has been demoted and will be replaced by Paul Maguire and newcomer Phil Simms on NBC’s No. 1 NFL broadcast team, the network announced Wednesday.
Maguire and Simms will join play-by-play announcer Dick Enberg to form a three-man team.
Trumpy, who has been at NBC since 1977 and was with Enberg on the No. 1 team the last three seasons, will be paired with Tom Hammond next season.
Cris Collinsworth will take Maguire’s spot on the No. 2 team with Marv Albert.
