Nona’s Courtyard Cafe in Ventura will change...

Nona’s Courtyard Cafe in Ventura will change to summer hours beginning July 6, adding lunch on Monday and dinner on Thursday and Sunday.

The restaurant will be open 7 a.m. to 10 a.m. for breakfast and 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for lunch Monday through Saturday; 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Thursday through Sunday for dinner, and 8 a.m. to noon Sundays for breakfast and brunch.

Nona’s creator, Jonathan Enabnit, also expects to have a new dinner menu (similar to the current menu but with a little tweaking here and there). Nona’s is at 67 California St.

Pastabilities Restaurant in Westlake began a few weeks ago to feature classical guitarist Rob Simon from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday nights. If you’re interested in checking out the food and the music, the Italian restaurant is at 900 Hampshire Road, Suite X. Pastabilities is also about to introduce its new summer specials. On another musical note, Full of Beans, a popular new Ventura coffeehouse, will have some live music of its own this weekend.

On Saturday, the Middle Eastern music and dance group Firqat Al-Azraq will perform on the patio beginning at 1 p.m. On Sunday, the Iron Mountain Boys will bring an entirely different flavor to the establishment, with some bluegrass sounds, beginning at noon. Both groups will perform throughout the afternoon.

The folks at McCarthy’s Restaurant in Camarillo will be celebrating their sixth anniversary in style throughout July--by giving away Boston Creme pies. Just bring in a ticket stub from the Edwards multiplex across the freeway, buy a meal, and you’ve got yourself dessert on the house.

Executive Chef J. Brian Barker said the restaurant has also begun to advertise on the movie screens at Edwards. “We’re starting to highlight our steaks, salmon and pastas,” he said. The ads are in the third week of a nine-week run. McCarthy’s is at 1101 Daily Drive.
