Despite an intensive search, Orange County Sheriff’s Department officials said Sunday they have not been able to find three inmates who escaped from the low-security James A. Musick Branch Jail on Saturday evening.

“We used K-9s, helicopters and bloodhounds. Investigators searched through the night and into the day and have not yet located the escapees,” Sheriff’s Lt. Lynn Nehring said.

Nehring said the search will continue.

Investigators are looking for Raul Marin Robles, 24, of Costa Mesa; Juan Santomayor, 19, of Costa Mesa; and Daniel Rodriguez Velasquez, 18, whose place of residence was not immediately known. The fugitives crawled under one fence and over another edged with razor wire at the honor farm near the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, according to authorities.

The three were in custody for driving under the influence, burglary and spousal abuse, Sheriff’s Lt. Bill Leonard said.

Their escape marks the fourth at the jail this year.
