Man Commits Suicide at Target Range
A 47-year-old man committed suicide Sunday by renting a gun from the indoor Agoura Hills Target Range and shooting himself in the head during a practice session, authorities said.
“He rented a gun to do target practice, apparently, inside the business,” Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Sgt. Tim Youngern said. “As he was probably going to do some target practice, he shot himself once in the head.”
Youngern said investigators have ruled out the possibility that the shooting was an accident.
Authorities declined to identify the man until relatives are notified but described him as a white 47-year-old who did not live in Agoura Hills. Youngern said the man was transported to Westlake Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
