Seagate Technology Plans to Expand Anaheim Plant

Share

Driven by increasing demand for computer memory products, Seagate Technology Inc. said Monday that it will make a major investment in robotic manufacturing equipment at its Anaheim plant.

A spokesman for the Scotts Valley, Calif., company declined to say how much the company would invest in the 274-employee plant. Up to 25 new jobs could be added over the next three years as a result of the new investment, the spokesman said.

Seagate, which had almost $4 billion in revenue last year, is one of the world’s largest producers of disk drives. In addition to the expansion at the Anaheim plant, Seagate is making an investment in its Fremont operations and is building a new factory in Singapore, where many other magnetic disk drives are assembled.
