WESTLAKE : Meeting Planned on Redevelopment
A public meeting will be held Wednesday to inform residents, merchants and property owners about elections for a project area committee that will help draft a redevelopment plan in Westlake.
The area being considered for redevelopment is bounded roughly by 3rd Street and Beverly Boulevard to the north, Olympic Boulevard to the south, Lucas Street to the east and Hoover Street and Benton Way to the west.
The project area committee will consist of 25 community members, including residents, property owners, merchants and members of community organizations. Anyone who lives, works or does business in the area, including tenants, is eligible.
At the meeting, participants will learn how to register as candidates or voters. The election is scheduled Aug. 23.
Wednesday’s meeting will be from 5 to 7 p.m. at Esperanza Elementary School, 680 Little St. Information: (213) 385-6421.
