CAMARILLO : Meeting Planned on Health Care Grants

Workers at Ventura County community health clinics can get information Thursday on obtaining grants from the Blue Cross Community Clinics Fund.

The Ventura County Community Foundation received a $400,000 gift from Blue Cross to improve accessibility and affordability of health care services, officials said.

Eligible clinics must be not-for-profit, community-based providers of health or behavioral health services to underserved and uninsured residents.

The grants, which will range up to $75,000 a year, will be for one year, beginning Dec. 1, and may be renewed for a second year.

Proposals must be received by 5 p.m. on Aug. 21 at Ventura County Community Foundation, 1355 Del Norte Road, Camarillo, 93010.

An informational meeting will be held at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at the foundation office.
