The Native American Feast series returns Friday to the courtyard of the Bowers Museum of Cultural Art. In a tribute to the tribes of the Southwest, Topaz Cafe chef John Sharpe will prepare dishes of the Zuni, Navajo and Hopi peoples. Bowers’ curator of Native American art, Paul Apodaca, will talk about myths and legends of the tribes as well as traditions surrounding the summer celebration of corn, squashes and chilies.

Among the nine courses are crab-filled squash blossoms; “little big pies” topped with grilled squash, peppers, corn and goat cheese; and mesquite-grilled quail served on a pine nut corn bread stuffing with wild berry compote. Dinner will be served family-style at large tables. Native American music will accompany the meal. The event begins at 6:30 p.m.; cost is $38 per person, all-inclusive.
