Restoration of the old mission at San Juan Capistrano got a boost from Knott’s Berry Farm.
After Walter Knott added a waterfall at his Buena Park restaurant, which he later expanded into a theme park, patrons began dropping coins in the pool.
Knott donated the money, which over several years totaled $10,000, to the mission restoration.
