Don’t Be So Quick to Jump on the Buss
I keep reading where King fans want Jerry Buss to buy back the team. I’m sure these fans weren’t hockey fans when he owned the team. I was, and I don’t want him back.
To longtime King fans, the moves you see today, trading No. 1 picks and young players for aging veterans, is not new. This is the way the team operated during his ownership and they consistently missed the playoffs. He even left early and didn’t see the greatest comeback in King history, the “Miracle on Manchester.”
He never treated the Kings the way he has the Lakers. The Kings were always treated like an unwanted stepchild. Give us an owner with passion for hockey, not basketball, who will build us a winner for years to come.
