Law to Control Noise Would Be Sound Move

Share

* If my neighbor had a loud party, I’d like to believe the police would keep the peace and stop the noise. Yet the peace is daily bombarded by the Burbank Airport from the north and Universal Studios from the south, both of which want to expand.

How can there not be a noise ordinance to protect homeowners? An ordinance that says “You may improve your property, but you may not disturb your neighbor. You may not profit by destroying the quality of life of those around you. Period.” And then it should be enforced.

How can Universal be allowed to expand, or for that matter continue to invade the quiet of homeowners nearby? Why does the Burbank Airport have the right to sit in the farthest west corner of Burbank and destroy the quiet of neighbors in another city? There’s something really, really wrong here.
