Kellogg May Close California Plant: The Battle Creek, Mich.-based food firm said it may close its cereal manufacturing plant in San Leandro, Calif., which would result in an annual pretax savings of at least $20 million. Kellogg Co. said it will make a final decision in about two months, after discussions with the union representing the plant’s hourly workers. The plant employs 325 people. It is the smallest of the firm’s six cereal plants in North America.
