SIMI VALLEY : First-Aid Training to Cover Many Topics

The American Red Cross will offer a first-aid and safety class Aug. 12 in Simi Valley.
The nine-hour course, which includes CPR training, is the most comprehensive class the Red Cross offers the public. It will teach participants to recognize and respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies and life-threatening bleeding. Prevention of injuries and heart disease will also be covered.
Students who complete the course will receive certificates in Community CPR and Community First Aid and Safety.
The CPR certificate is valid for a year, and the safety certificate for three years.
The class, which costs $46, is scheduled for 8 a.m. at 1919 Williams St., Suite 200. For more information, call 582-8630.
