A 33-year-old Palmdale woman was killed when her car rolled over several times on Pearblossom Highway Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

The woman, who was not identified pending notification of her family, was heading west on Pearblossom Highway near 175th Street West about 4:05 p.m. when her car drifted off the road and rolled over as she struggled to regain control, California Highway Patrol Officer Shirley Gaines said. The woman was declared dead at the scene.

It was the second fatal accident on Pearblossom Highway in the Antelope Valley in 24 hours. At about 8 p.m. Tuesday, a 78-year-old Claremont woman was killed when her car drifted across the center line of the freeway near California 38 and struck an eastbound pickup truck, Gaines said.
