PGA Puts Daily Championship Tickets on Sale

In something of a rarity that may be an indication of a tough Los Angeles market, up to 6,000 daily tickets for next week’s 77th PGA Championship are on sale.

PGA officials said Thursday that two of the last three PGA Championships, at St. Louis in 1992 and Tulsa last year, were sold out before the tournament and that in 1993 a few daily tickets were available the week before the tournament in Toledo. In each case, gallery capacity was much greater than the 22,000 slated for Riviera Country Club.

Also, only 2,000 tickets remain for the 1996 event in Louisville.

Daily tickets, priced at $25 for practice rounds Monday-Wednesday, $50 for Thursday and Friday and $65 for Saturday and Sunday are available at Ticketmaster outlets, at the ticket office at the Veterans’ Administration Building on Bonsall Ave. or by calling 1-800-742-4695.
