RESEDA : Woman Stabbed in Home Robbery
A 63-year-old woman Friday was bound and gagged with duct tape, then stabbed after being dragged into her home by a thief who attacked as she was taking out her garbage, police said.
Angie Sahakian was in good condition at Tarzana Medical Center, Los Angeles Police Detective Robert Johansen said.
He said Sahakian was carrying the trash when a man about 30 years old leaped from the bushes near her home in the 18400 block of Delano Street at 9:30 a.m. and dragged her into her house. In Armenian, Sahakian’s native language, he demanded gold and money.
The assailant bound and gagged Sahakian and took her purse, Johansen said. When she struggled, the thief stabbed her in the hand.
When Sahakian’s brother drove up to the house moments later, the thief fled through the front door and drove off in a white car, Johansen said.
