ORANGE COUNTY ALMANAC : Laguna Beach’s Evolution
Laguna Beach, incorporated in the 1920s, was a thriving community long before that.
The first residents, in the 1870s, were homesteaders who divided the land into sections and farmed it.
The area later became a popular summer resort for families who came from Riverside, Pasadena and San Bernardino and erected tents on the beach.
