Ex-Pilot Gets Life in Attack on Federal Express Jet Crew

MEMPHIS, Tenn. —
A former Federal Express pilot was sentenced to life in prison Friday for attacking a FedEx jet crew with a hammer and spear gun at 18,000 feet.
Auburn Calloway, 42, was convicted in March of attempted air piracy and interfering with a crew member. Jurors rejected his claim that he was insane when he attacked the three-man crew.
