Westside : Candidates Begin Campaigns for Area School Board Seats
And the races are on.
School board candidates in Beverly Hills and Culver City officially began their campaigns this week for the Nov. 7 elections.
Three seats are up for grabs in the Beverly Hills Unified School District. Incumbents Richard A. Stone and Jo Ann Koplin will try to retain their positions on the five-member school board. The election includes two challengers: Trisha Roth, who sought election in 1993, and Virginia Maas.
In the Culver City Unified School District, candidates are vying for two seats. The field includes incumbent Michael Eskridge. Four newcomers also are making bids for the seats. They are Stewart Bubar, Tom Horn, Charles Locko) and Barry M. Yudess.
School board members in both districts serve four-year terms.
