OXNARD : 3 Held on Suspicion of Shooting at Truck
Oxnard police arrested two local men and a youth on suspicion of firing several shots at another vehicle on Saviers Road. There were no injuries.
Rolondo Celis, 19, and Herlindo Hernandez, 26, both of Oxnard were booked into Ventura County Jail late Wednesday night, and a 16-year-old suspect was sent to Juvenile Hall, police said. They were charged with conspiracy and assault with a firearm.
Police say a truck carrying a man, his pregnant girlfriend and her 5-year-old son was shot at Wednesday evening. The couple flagged down police on Saviers Road at 9:30 p.m. and identified the vehicle driven by the suspected gunmen. As police pursued the car, a handgun was tossed out a window, police said. The three suspects were arrested shortly thereafter.
Police said the suspects had a verbal disagreement with the couple in the truck just before the shooting took place.
