Anti-Smoking Mural to Be Unveiled
El Centrito de La Colonia plans to unveil an anti-smoking mural at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Oxnard.
The mural, with its anti-tobacco theme, was painted on a wall on Oxnard Boulevard near North Harrison Avenue by Ventura artist M.B. Hanrahan. Teen-agers in El Centrito’s youth programs assisted in the painting.
El Centrito de La Colonia is a nonprofit company run by the Sisters of St. Joseph Ministerial Services.
The organization provides free counseling, support and drug prevention services to teen-agers, families and farm workers who live in and near La Colonia.
