Let the fund raising begin.
The Simi Valley Rotary Club has announced events to raise money for Simi Valley Days.
The club will hold a pancake breakfast from 8 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Rancho-Tapo Community Park on the corner of Lemon Drive and Avenida Simi. The breakfast costs $5 per person.
The Rotary Club will finish its fund raising next Wednesday with a western night starting at 5 p.m. at Maverick’s Restaurant on the corner of Cochran Street and Stearns Avenue.
About 70% of the money raised at the events will go to offset the cost of the parade, and the remainder will go to the Simi Valley K-9 police unit, said club representative Dave McCormick.
The group hopes to raise $5,000 this year, McCormick said.
