Central Los Angeles : STRENGTH IN NUMBERS
Organizers of the 10th annual Black Family Reunion Celebration are on a mission to encourage families of every ethnicity to rejoice in their strength.
“It’s about fathers and mothers sticking together with their children,” said Brian Kent Thomas. “There are no color lines. Everybody is invited--black, white, Korean, anybody.”
The free event, organized by the National Council of Negro Women, will be held Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 8 p.m. at Exposition Park. Entertainment includes jazz, blues and gospel performances, including a concert by singer CeCe Winans on Sunday evening.
Booths will include information on health, education, jobs, family values and community networking.
