$85,000 in Contracts OKd for Airports
Ventura County supervisors have awarded contracts totaling $85,000 for preliminary work on improvements planned at Oxnard and Camarillo airports.
The board on Tuesday approved a $47,000 contract with Penfield & Smith of Oxnard to prepare blueprints and other planning documents for improvements to the Camarillo Airport runway and the construction of three helipads. The total cost of the project is $598,000.
Supervisors also approved a $38,000 contract with Touchdown Engineering of Ventura to design three airport terminal ramps at Oxnard Airport. Construction of the three ramps is expected to cost about $775,000.
