As fellow Celts lifted her throne off the moving truck, Queen Medb of Connaught (65-year-old Catherine Kay in real life) was on her cellular phone, summoning her subjects. Her Gaelic sept , one of many guilds convening today and Sunday at Shoreline Park in Long Beach, will help revive the Renaissance.

At the city’s 11th annual Renaissance Arts Festival, touring guilds will present living history through dance and theater performances, weaponry demonstrations and other Renaissance traditions.

Proceeds will go to the Travelers’ Aid Society.

The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and Sunday at Shoreline Park, Shoreline Drive and Pine Avenue. Tickets are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors and $2 for children ages 5-12. Children under 5 are free. Information: (310) 437-0751.
