Move Works Against Regional Planning
* Pressure is being brought to bear on the city of Calabasas and Los Angeles County to accommodate in their general plans traffic flows to and from the proposed Ahmanson Ranch development in Ventura County.
Ventura County does not suffer any impact because Supervisors Maria VanderKolk and Vicki Howard vacated the easement through east Bell Canyon when they approved this massive development. This was as a result of concerns expressed by Bell Canyon residents.
It is fundamentally wrong for one agency to take actions to approve such a project and take steps to isolate it from their area so that their neighbors are forced to suffer the deleterious impacts. If allowed to proceed, this can only destroy any attempts at regional planning.
