On behalf of three individuals who can no longer speak for themselves I submit this letter. Those individuals are my beloved mother, my aunt and my favorite uncle, who were laid to rest in Lincoln Memorial Park. These three individuals all lived and died in Los Angeles. They were all hard-working good citizens, paid their taxes and were voting citizens as well. My uncle fought in World War II, so that even the owners of Lincoln Memorial Park could have a better life.
When these three individuals were laid to rest at Lincoln Memorial Park, we thought that their final debt was paid. The family paid the amount asked for by the cemetery to ensure their final resting place.
My recent visit to Lincoln Memorial Park revealed that all of my relatives were not in their original burial sites (Aug. 16-20). My question to Lincoln Memorial Park is, where are they? Where is your contractual and social responsibility to the community? Where is your integrity and moral responsibility? Why has this injustice gone undetected for so long?
The citizens of Los Angeles demand that there should be some answers forthcoming from our elected officials and the members of the State Cemetery Board.
