Work on MTA Line Causes Gas Leak
NORTH HOLLYWOOD —
Traffic was stalled for four hours early Saturday morning after construction workers on the Metropolitan Transit Authority’s Blue Line accidentally drilled into a main gas line under Lankershim Boulevard near Magnolia Avenue.
The gas leak, which occurred at 2:30 a.m., forced police to barricade the area and detour traffic around the site. No one was injured and no residents were evacuated, police said.
The construction crew repaired the gas leak later Saturday morning, police said.
