OUTLOOK

The Vaqueros’ strength should be its line play and, where there’s a decent offensive line, there should be a decent running game. Diehl (736 yards, 4.0 average) came on in the second half of last season, gaining more than 100 yards in four of the last five games; he should be complemented by the speedy Ahrin. The offensive line is a little bigger and stronger than Irvine is used to. Inexperience at quarterback, as well as other skill positions, could be a concern. Irvine has more speed than in the past, but lacks the seniors it traditionally relies upon for its success.
