Boy, 4, Dies When Garbage Truck Backs Over Him in Alley

A 4-year-old boy was killed in Wilmington Monday when a garbage truck backed over him in an alley where he was playing unattended, police said.
The driver was backing up the Browning-Ferris Industries truck in the south alley behind 724 N. Wilmington Blvd. when he ran over the child at 9:30 a.m., said Los Angeles Police Sgt. Tina Nieto. The boy was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity was not released.
