Motorcycle Officer Hurt in Collision
A Los Angeles police motorcycle officer was injured Saturday in Northridge when he was hit by a car as he pulled out into traffic.
Officer Lawrence Reid, 58, was listed in stable condition at Northridge Hospital Medical Center after the early morning accident. Valley Traffic Division Officer Edward Waschak said Reid had “some broken ribs and is in a lot of pain, but will be OK.”
Reid, a 25-year LAPD veteran, was near the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Louise Avenue at about 8:30 a.m. and had pulled out when he was hit by a car. Waschak said the driver of the car was not cited.
