San Francisco Ballet will hold auditions for dancing and non-dancing roles in the “Nutcracker” ballet to be presented Nov. 25 and 26 and Dec. 1-3 at the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Costa Mesa. Michael Botwinick, director of Newport Harbor Art Museum, and Louis Spisto, executive director of Pacific Symphony, will teach courses this fall in UC Irvine’s newly established Certificate Program in Arts Administration, offered through UCI Extension. Botwinick’s “Visual Arts Administration Seminar” begins Oct. 10 (through Nov. 21); Spisto’s “Performing Arts Administration Seminar” starts Oct. 2 (through Nov. 4). The other fall offering in the program is “Introduction to Arts Administration,” taught by James Ruggirello, executive director of Japan America Symphony and director of educational programs at the Los Angeles Philharmonic. The Laguna Art Museum invites prospective volunteers to a morning coffee session on Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m. Guests will meet staff members and volunteers to discuss the museum’s programs and activities.
