The Orange Lutheran Lancers ran over Sun Valley Village Christian in their 40-8 nonleague victory in front of homecoming crowd of 1,500 Friday at Brea Olinda High.

Two senior running backs, Che Holloway (three touchdowns) and Ben Willits (two touchdowns), led the Lancers. Holloway led all rushers with 136 yards.

Sophomore quarterback Justin Smith completed eight of 11 passes for 114 yards.

During the first half Orange Lutheran (3-1) scored often. The Lancers opened the scoring with 30 second remaining in the first quarter, when Tim Smith hit a 38-yard field goal.

In the second quarter the Lancers rushed for three touchdowns. Willits scored back to back on inside handoffs from 36 and 30 yards out.

Holloway rushed from four yards out for his first touchdown.

Orange Lutheran led at the half 21-0.

Village Christian (2-2), plagued by injuries, was unable to get its offense going.

In the second half Holloway rushed for 93 of his 136 yards, scoring on two short runs.

Running back Andy Wetzler rounded out the Lancers’ scoring with a 13-yard run from scrimmage. Village Christian’s only score came late in the game when quarterback Chris Coleman, who had replaced Matt Price in the second half, hit Tony Yousif with a 39-yard pass. Coleman connected with Yousif again with a two-point conversion to round out the scoring.
