RATINGS AND PARENTS
Greg Mason raises a valid point when he says “it’s time to quit picking on the movie makers and put the attention where it belongs, on the parents” (Letters, Sept. 24). But he seems to be missing his own point as he calls for more stringent film ratings.
Not having seen “Clockers,” I can only rely on Mason’s judgment that it’s probably not appropriate for the 2- and 3-year-olds who accompanied their parents to the screening he attended. But you can’t raise other people’s kids for them. The government can’t, and the movie industry shouldn’t even try.
