Three people suspected of shooting a 17-year-old early Saturday were arrested on a charge of attempted murder, police said.

The teen-ager, who is from Orange, was found around 1:15 a.m. lying in a grassy parkway near an apartment building in the 1200 block of South Euclid Street, said Detective Lee Smith.

The victim apparently was shot once in the upper body and taken to a local hospital, where he was listed in critical condition, officials said Saturday.

Police arrested Terry Alphonso Jordan, 26, a transient, Barron Lebron Brandon, 24, of Orange, and a 17-year-old Orange resident in connection with the shooting. Authorities could not say what caused the shooting.

While the assailants were fleeing the crime scene, police said, they crashed head-on into another car. The three abandoned the car and ran into a neighborhood where they were later found by officers and a police dog. A loaded handgun also was discovered where the suspects had been hiding, police added.

Jordan and Brandon remain at Anaheim Jail on $250,000 bail each. The teen-ager was taken to Juvenile Hall.
