OXNARD : Parents Offer Reward in Shooting Death

Share

The parents of a 16-year-old Channel Islands High School student who was shot to death last week are offering $3,000 for any information that leads to the arrest and conviction of their son’s killer.

“We want this person put away,” said Virginia Banuelos, the mother of Martin Banuelos, who was killed Sept. 28 as he stood on the front porch of a friend’s home in a quiet street in Oxnard.

Banuelos said the family decided to offer the reward after Martin’s funeral Monday. “It has been extremely difficult for us and we hope someone will be arrested,” she said.

Martin died at St. John’s Medical Center from a single gunshot wound about 4:30 p.m., just one hour after an unknown gunman fired about 10 shots at him as he stood in front of a friend’s house that is two blocks away from the Banuelos home.
